How do you feel about the current situation of the gambling market in Romania when it comes to land-based poker operations?

From my point of view, it can be a successful business, considering the fact that poker is a relatively new entry on the Romanian market, but one that grew fast during the last ten years. At the moment, this business has a lot of development potential, and, through successful management, it can be a good alternative for those looking for a friendly and interactive atmosphere in the gambling industry.

So how did you come to the conclusion that opening a poker club in Oradea might be a good idea?

As you probably already know, Eldorado 777 is a growing company. Therefore, three years ago, the owners decided to reach a new group of clients, the poker players. We considered that this would be a good opportunity for us to extend the services that our company had provided its clients so far.

When the owners decided to take a leap forward and started Eldorado 777 Poker, at the first floor of the Deluxe gaming hall, we had a successful year. We were sure that extending the existent services to a new direction would be a good idea, in order to reach a new category of players. After three years of activity, we can definitely say that the effort was worth it, and the poker games exist in a very constructive symbiosis with the gambling hall.

How would you describe the activity of the Eldorado 777 Poker Club?

We always did our best to create an atmosphere that would best answer the needs of our clients and we have a clear idea about what our weekly and monthly schedules should look like, as well as the promotions we run.

The poker club is part of the Eldorado 777 chain, and was well integrated within the company’s operational functions and marketing directions, but it is also an „independent” island, where we can satisfy the needs of our clients from our perspective.

Are there any international models that are worth looking up to?

Of course, poker is a „international language”, the game is played the same way all around the globe. The essence of the poker game is the same everywhere, and, in my opinion, it’s important to look at how other poker clubs function, both nationally and internationally. We are connected to everything that happens on the international markets, but I don’t necessarily believe that imitating them or copying them is the right thing, because each region has its own poker players, with different attitudes and game styles.

How do you distinguish yourselves from the other poker salons on the Romanian market?

This is a tough question to answer. Obviously, we’re up to date on what the competition does, but we like to follow our own intuition, so our objectives and activities don’t depend on the way others do things. So here’s why I refuse the comparison. In Romania, there are many more experienced poker operators, but we’re quite sure that our perspectives and vision are well drawn.

What types of promotions and tournaments do you prefer?

We believe that tournaments and promotions are the main attractions of our poker club. Therefore, we like to keep high standards, and organize tournaments with large set prizes and valuable promotions, that we constantly change and improve.

Aside from all these aspects, it’s important for us to integrate the poker club within the global marketing activities of our company, they way we did with our current promotion, Millionaire Club.

What are your future plans?

The next important step for Poker Eldorado 777 is currently in progress, as it’s actually about opening a poker club in Arad. The opening of this club will take place at the same time as the refurbishment of a Eldorado 777 Winner Club, that, by summer, will turn into a complex gambling and poker services hall.

At the moment, there are no other poker clubs in Arad, so we have pretty high expectations with regard to this project. In order to make it happen, we’ve started working on the tournaments and the cash tables that we’ll be setting up in the new location. Another important aspect is that of the human resources, that are, in our opinion, one of the key elements of our success.
